Gasping for air

Hey, it's Week 11 and guess what: I'm swamped. It's that time of the semester again when dirty clothes might stay on the living room floor for a week or more, my refrigerator is empty, and I find myself shielding my eyes from the blinding sun as I tilt my head skywards to scope out the height of the wicked mountain of work I'm about to start scaling in earnest. Starting to get really heavy here. This morning felt like real winter had arrived, but by this afternoon the sun was shining... we get a little longer before the deep freeze sets in.

A horrible, ironic thing happened to me this morning. I've been needing to back up my hard drive for a little while now but haven't gotten around to it; I decided to finally do it this morning because I noticed that my computer was making a strange sound while I was working last night. After backing up half of my files, my screen went black. A panicked, forced shut down and restart did nothing, nor did my five subsequent attempts... and I'm kind of freaking out. I hope I can at least retrieve my files. I'm pretty glad I uploaded all my digital work to drop.io when I did. I've been talking about getting a mac for a couple of semesters; guess I might get my chance.

Here's to staying alive. 5 more weeks to go.

Keep up the hard work Melissa. It does not go unnoticed by those who care about you. And while you are grasping for air, find a moment to close your eyes and just breath.
