a few things I have an interest in

So I'll be honest. This entire blog isn't going to exactly be about feminist rhetorics in consumer media. That's definitely the locus of my interest right now, but prior to and accompanying all that glitters is mining all the other knowledge around it. So, this space will be a compilation of writings for the expeditions in which I am now engaged:

CCR 601, Introduction to Scholarship in Composition and Rhetoric with Margaret Himley
CCR 631, 20th Century Rhetorics with Iswari Pandey
CCR 760, Feminist Rhetorics with Gwen Pough

and the illustrious

WRT 670, Theory and Strategy for the Teaching of Writing

I must admit that I am learning alot. But it seems to me that this blogging thing might be worthwhile. I tend to take copious notes in the margins of all my texts. I like putting those notes into notebooks, along with additional notes. But having things electronically accessible is just so damn convenient. When I was an undergraduate, I literally wrote every paper by hand, and then I typed it. I swear to God. Even if it was a 17-20 page paper, I was physically unable to compose on the computer. When I started my master's program, it was evident that I had to adapt. And here too again; notebooks are pretty, but digital text is useful. And it looks pretty, too.

So yes, we'll see how the organization of the thing unfolds. If I'm lucky, I'll get a good amount of glimmer for the mining.
