As for the title: for Eileen Schell's course in Research Methods and Methodologies this semester, we will be undertaking some kind of responsive, collaborative blogging project. Since I've been through Wordpress with limited satisfaction, keep a private Google site for my own notes, and *maintain* this blog, I decided to look around for something new and found tumblr.com. I was a little skeptical at first because things seemed to be loading slow, but it's actually a neat interface. Requires very little but has a nice format as far as the types of content one is encouraged to post. I've really only had it for about an hour now, but I'm a lot more optimistic about it than when I started. Began playing around with the content and I think this may be an energizing alternative to Blogger, Wordpress, LiveJournal, etc.
I'm mostly going to be doing exploratory academic writing on the tumblr blog, notes and quotes kind of stuff, so any perusing of those writings should be accompanied by an understanding that this is essentially a venue for class notes, and can't be reliably counted upon for clarity or even correctness. But it might be cool.
In other news of the new, I am now the proud owner of a 2001 Jetta. Miles are a little high, but I'm a sucker for those leather seats and the sun roof ;)
